Numerous CRBT research projects have explored the potential for obtaining building materials from unconventional and underutilized resource bases. In order to ease the pressure on scarce natural resources conventionally used for building construction, CRBT looks for viable alternative materials - in what might be considered unlikely places. Sometimes unwanted waste products can provide the raw material for highly desirable building products. In other cases plentiful resources that haven't been used for building can be adapted to serve a new purpose. These short reports chronicle some of the research CRBT has done on new material resources for construction.
