- Solar Energy International, based in Carbondale, Colorado, is the sponsor of numerous workshops each year on planning and installing renewable energy systems, and indigenous building technologies.
- Austin Greenbuilding Program is a successful community green building program run by the City of Austin, Texas. Their useful web site includes a directory of green building professionals.
- Rocky Mountain Institute is a strong advocate of energy efficiency, including energy efficiency in homes and commercial buildings.
- Northwest Ecobuilding Guild is a membership-based group of building industry professionals with chapters in several Northwest communities.
- NAHB Research Center has an extensive building-related site, which includes information on construction and demolition waste prevention and recycling.
